This book started out life as a possible deries of articles about the experiences of Anglo-German Family History Society members in tracing their King's German Legion ancestors. However, in gathering information for these, I realised that there was quite a lot of general interest in the KGL and from this I decided to put together a book showing something of its history. I have been fortunate in persuading people to either write articles, to allow me to publish existing material, or to send notes which I could adapt into chapters for this publication. [...] I hope all readers will find some items to interest them.
